Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced Structural Steel Shop Mechanic/Fitter for a fabrication shop position. This role requires hands-on experience fitting, laying out, cutting, and fabricating structural steel components in a shop environment. The ideal candidate must be able to read and interpret blueprints, perform layout work, cut structural members, fit weldments, and work safely around overhead cranes and shop equipment. Experience fabricating rafters and stair stringers is strongly preferred. Applicants must be prepared to complete and pass a shop fitting/fabrication test.

Requirements
3–5 years of experience in a structural steel fabrication shop Must be able to read and interpret blueprints Must be able to lay out, cut, and fit structural steel members Experience fitting weldments and fabricated steel assemblies Experience fabricating rafters and stair stringers preferred SMAW welding experience required Must be able to use a bridge crane Must be comfortable working safely around shop equipment and lifting operations FCAW certification is a plus Must be able to pass a shop fabrication/fitting test Must be reliable, safety-minded, and able to work in a shop environment
